Community Action Project

Empowering Communities, Inspiring Change.

We are CAP, a team of passionate young changemakers from Zambia and the United States, committed to empowering communities through impactful projects. Together, we support the Njira Skills Youth Training Centre in Lusaka, Zambia by sharing their creativity and resilience with the world!

How we began

Our story started with a program called LearnServe and a series of virtual meetings between like-minded individuals from two continents. We were united by our desire to make a tangible difference in the world around us. It wasn’t until we came together in July 2024 and got to experience the culture and people in Lusaka, Zambia, specifically a local community called Njira, that it became increasingly clear we were more than just a group of individuals; we were a team with a purpose.

Our Mission

At CAP x Njira, we’re all about bringing people together to create real, lasting change. Our partnership with the Njira community in Lusaka is built on empowering youth vocational training by sharing their unique creations with the world.Njira Skills Youth Training Centre is a community based organization that contributes to the fight against poverty through free vocational training to GBV survivors, teenage mothers and other vulnerable women in Mtendere and Kalikiliki, Lusaka. Every purchase goes straight back to the community, helping grow the Njira Youth Center and giving young people the tools they need to thrive. We believe in the power of community, creativity, and connection. Join us in supporting Njira’s reslient youth, uplifting the next generation, and making a difference—one handcrafted piece at a time.
